WIBN December Newsletter

Manheim, PA - On behalf of the Wrestlers in Business Network (WIBN) Board of Directors, I want to take a brief moment to wish everyone a very happy and safe holiday season. I’ve always maintained that the most critical amateur wrestling speaking point we should all emphasize when speaking to key influencers, educators, etc. is what becomes of a wrestler when they are no longer competing. With this in mind, I would like to take a minute to spotlight the extraordinary work of a retired wrestler, co-founder of the WIBN-Princeton Chapter, and internationally renowned neurosurgeon, Dr. Mark Mclaughlin.

As a matter of background, Dr. Mclaughlin competed at the NCAA Division I level for the College of William and Mary. He has been with the Princeton Youth Wrestling Club for 17 years and Trenton Youth wrestling for five years. In 2016 he was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. He founded Princeton Brain, Spine, and Sports Medicine and served as the Medical Director from 2005 to 2015 before focusing his time on speaking, writing, and teaching.

Just recently, Dr. Mclaughlin released a new book, Cognitive Dominance: A Brain Surgeon’s Quest to Outthink Fear. I have personally read this book, and it is terrific. If you have not already done so, please go to https://www.amazon.com/Cognitive-Dominance-Brain-Surgeons-Out-Think/dp/193689162X to purchase a copy. It is an easy read with powerful messages.
