WIBN Delaware hosts Cancer Take Down Event at the Beast of the East
Newark, DE - On December 21, An incredible Wrestlers in Business Network event designed to “Takedown Cancer” & “Bring Back UDEL Wrestling” was hosted at University of Delaware’s Bob Carpenter Center in conjunction with the Beast of the East. Panelists/Participants included U.S. Senator - Delaware, Chris Coons/HS Wrestler, Majority Leader of Delaware State Senate, Nicole Poore/Wrestling Mom, Bethany Hall-Long, Lt Governor of DE (from a family of wrestlers), Dr Sciubba, Neuro Surgeon/Oncologist at Johns Hopkins/College Wrestler, Nicole Duffy, Director of Psycho-Social Oncology at Helen Graham Cancer Center (wrestling cheerleader), Paula Swain, EVP of Human Resources, Incyte Pharmaceuticals, Dan Gable, Bob Brams, former Delaware high school wrestler, prominent attorney, and brain tumor survivor, Vic Leonard, Chair of Wrestlers in Business Network/DE Chapter, Matt Robinson, Chair of Delaware Sports Commission, Mike Moyer/WIBN & NWCA.
Among the many highlights of the afternoon was Senator Chris Coons making a very public commitment to bring back varsity wrestling at UDEL. Special shout out to the Delaware Wrestling Alliance and Wrestlers in Business Network Delaware Chapter for a phenomenal Beast tournament and WIBN event.
