WIBN Ambassador Spotlight | Garrett Johnson

At WIBN, we have over 150 interns from across the country, and every one of them is supremely impressive. None, though, are more impressive than Garrett Johnson. Garrett Johnson is a Sophomore at the University of Dubuque. He is a well-rounded, professional, and outgoing leader on his team and is destined for great things after graduating. We are proud to have him as a member of our team.

At Dubuque, he is majoring in Business and Marketing and will graduate with a minor in computer science. Garrett is very interested in sales, and after only a short time, it is easy to see why! He is a very personable and confident person who generally enjoys interacting with people. As a testament to that, he is a student ambassador at Dubuque and provides campus tours to prospective students. This past summer, he interned with Titan Machinery selling farm and construction machinery.

This summer, and due to WIBN’s assistance, he has already secured an internship with Kiewit Corporation (LinkedIN Profile). Kiewit is one of the largest construction firms in the United States, a Fortune 500 Company, and an IT innovation leader in the Midwest. Garrett’s introduction to Kiewit came about because WIBN helped connect him with the great company. This shows the power and reach of the wrestling network and how WIBN can help all wrestlers with career opportunities….not just for college athletes but for all former wrestlers.

And Garrett couldn’t be more appreciative to WIBN for the introduction. In his words, there isn’t “a better internship in the Midwest (Omaha) for him.” He is most excited that this internship will be in technology and innovation. He’ll be part of a small team within the massive 30k employee organization. He couldn’t be more thrilled.

Don’t get us wrong, Garrett stands tall on his own merit and doesn’t need much help from WIBN. He is a tremendous leader and highly involved in several organizations. In addition to his role as a Student Ambassador, he’s also in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a member of the Future Young Professional Club, and a member of the Student Government.

If you’d like to connect with Garrett and provide advice or opportunities, please reach out to him via his LinkedIN Profile. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on our team, and I’m sure he’d be an asset to any organization.
