The Wrestlers in Business Network - Philadelphia Chapter Announces 2nd Annual Scholarship Program

The Wrestlers In Business Network (WIBN) - Philadelphia Chapter announces its 2nd annual scholarship program application process. The scholarship will be awarded to two high school student athletes - one male & one female - who represent the very best of academic, community and athletic achievement. The board will be looking for two well-rounded wrestlers who participate in activities outside of wrestling, exude leadership and maintain high moral standards and character.

Last year’s winners, Tatyana Turner and Sam McMonagle have both gone on to successful freshman seasons at their respective universities.

Tatyana Turner, who is finishing her first year at William Jewell College, competed at both 136 and 143 pound weight classes this season where she earned 7 victories and placed 5th in Missouri Collegiate Championships. Turner finished with the highest GPA on the women’s team.

Sam McMonagle, a fourth place finisher in last year’s PA state championships, competed at 141 this season at Brown University where he won 13 matches in a tough freshman campaign.

We are excited to once again offer a scholarship of $1000.00 per athlete to be used for their next phase in life be it a 4-year college, a 2-year college, technical school, or the military.

The student athletes will be required to apply for the scholarship by writing a letter to the WIBN Board as to why they are deserving of the scholarship and their plans for the future. The scholarship committee will then review all applicants and pass on their top candidates for a full board vote.

The application process will begin on April 1st with the scholarships to be awarded in July. If you know of any student-athlete worthy of receiving these scholarships, please have them submit the application below.
